Oscar Predictions for the 83rd Academy Awards

hollywoodnews.com: In anticipation of Tuesday’s announcement for this year’s Oscar nominations, the nine editors of Gold Derby have come together to make their predictions in the top categories. For the acting races, the votes were spread around quite a bit. However, the editors were in absolute agreement on seven of the ten movies to take the top prize.
“Black Swan,” “The Fighter,” “Inception,” “The Kids Are All Right,” “The King’s Speech,” “The Social Network,” and “Toy Story 3″ all received unanimous votes for Best Picture. Meanwhile, four men are locks for Best Director according to editors’ votes: Darren Aronofsky (“Black Swan”), David Fincher (“The Social Network”), Tom Hooper (“The King’s Speech”), and Christopher Nolan (“Inception”).
For lead performances, editors were only in 100% agreement for two choices in each category: Annette Bening (“The Kids Are All Right”) and Natalie Portman (“Black Swan”) for Best Actress, and Colin Firth (“The King’s Speech”) and James Franco (“127 Hours”) for Best Actor.
For Best Supporting Actress, the three locks are Amy Adams (“The Fighter”), Helena Bonham Carter (“The King’s Speech”), and Melissa Leo (“The Fighter”), while the two unanimous choices for Best Supporting Actor are Christian Bale (“The Fighter”) and Geoffrey Rush (“The King’s Speech”).
Our editors are Chris Beachum, Matthew Cormier, Marcus Dixon, Darrin Dortch, Rob Licuria, Matt Noble, Andrew Pickett, David Schnelwar, and Ben Scuglia. Here’s a complete list of their choices.
